Listen: Drake and Wizkid Address Their Enemies on Groovy New Track 'Come Closer'

Following the success of 'One Dance',
the duo team up on another catchy
club banger called 'Come Closer' which
was released on March 31.
It's been almost a year since Drake
and Wizkid released hit song "One
Dance", and now they team up again
for another dance anthem, "Come
Closer", which was initially titled
"Hush Up the Silence". In the slow
banger, the "Hotline Bling" hitmaker
and the Nigerian singer throw subtle
shade at their enemies, even though
the main focus of the track is about
love.
It is believed that Wizkid throws
shade at The Weeknd whom he
claimed to have borrowed Wizkid's
label name, Starboy Entertainment,
as a song title. "Came into the game,
no one replace me/ Me love my
Hennessy straight with no chaser/ All
of my guys know me all me paper/ Me
got me girls all around me, me no
chaser, yah/ Starboy, call me number
one/ When me tune drop, the girls,
they bounce along/ Me no let nothing
come between me and me paper/ So
when me come inna di place, me
undertaker," Wizkid raps in auto-tune
voice.
Meanwhile, Drake has no one specific
in his lines. He just wants to address
"jealous people" around him on his
verse. He raps smoothly, "Too mix up
in drama to go outside/ Too mix up in
drama to free my mind/ Jealous
people around me, I need to change
my life/ I just turn colder every time I
try/ What would I do without you, my
chargie?"
It looks like the song has won the nod
from fans. The audio has been
streamed more than 250k times on
Wizkid's official Vevo account on
YouTube. A fan commented below the
video, "I am here for wizkid this
music got me relaxed and chilled."
Another fan gushed, "ITS LIT!!!......
But Damn this has better quality and
better production than the leaked
version I reacted to."
The groovy track had actually been
leaked in January. "Come Closer" is
the lead single off Wizkid's upcoming
RCA records debut, "Sounds From the
Other Side", which is expected to be
released this year. The track also
marks the rapper's third
collaboration with Drake after
"Ojuelegba" remix and "One Dance".
A video for "Come Closer" has been
shot and is set to be premiered soon.
